Blobs
Blobs, Wallpaper and Acrylic Paint
This work was an ongoing exploration of my collage piece. I took the blobs and separated them from the pack, each one now takes on a new identity. The blobs work together as well as alone, whether you consider them individually or as part of the documented collection. The idea of randomly placing them scattered throughout the room gives the notion that these 'things' can go anywhere and invade any space. Overall, there is a sense of loss for me in the creation of this piece, since they had to be painted over and removed once the project was completed. Now they only exist in photographs.
Final Project for Drawing IV
Blobs
Wall Corner #1
Wall Corner #2
Wall Corner #3
Blobs, Wallpaper, Acrylic & Oil Paint
This was my final project for my Drawing IV class this year (2011).
For this project I was able to have my own room to further my exploration on my collage piece. Here I was able to use the 'blobs' to comment on the space and also play with motion, narrative and size. The different sizes presented in the last wall not only add character but also begin to play with depth. There is still much more to explore with this idea.
