I'm Still Alive, Series, 11"X14", Black and White RC Prints
Inspired by the reading of Roland Barthes', Camera Lucida, Reflections on Photography.
Slight yellowing and fading is intentional.
Roland Barthes: at the time a picture is taken the object is knowingly alive since it was present to have its picture taken, but as soon as the pictured has been taken than the object now resides in the past and suggestion of its death becomes prominent.

I believe the juxtaposition, which arises by the words [I'm Still Alive] introduces an interesting psychological aspect, since these words may have become untrue statements overtime but at the moment the photograph was taken they were nonetheless true.
Additionally, a camera is, generally, only able to document a single moment in time and the idea of someone continually speaking out [I’m still alive] through the image, allows the viewer to consider the role that time plays.
